The 2012 to 2014 Ford Focus models were recalled due to possible loss of power to the wheels, a problem that affected 2,618 vehicles. Select 2014 Ford Focus models were also recalled due to a fuel pump problem that increased the risk of stalling during driving.
Software issues with the powertrain control module caused the wheel power loss defect in 2012 to 2014 Ford Focus models. The vehicle displays "Stop Safely Now" when the issue occurs. Ford dealer's will reprogram the powertrain control module for all Ford Focus owner's who qualify for the recall. For the 2014 Ford Focus fuel pump defect, Ford dealerships will replace the fuel delivery module, as of 2015.
