In May 2014, Ford recalled almost 4,000 vehicles, including the F-250 Super Duty, due to transmission calibration problems. Ford issued seven recalls on the Ford F-250 Super Duty from 1992 through 2015.
The transmission calibration problem found in the May 2014 recall resulted from an error with the vehicle's transmission control software. Ford authorized dealers to update the transmission software in recalled vehicles.
Over the years, Ford recalled the F-250 Super Duty for various reasons, including failure of the brake/shift interlock and overheating of the body control module. Other recalls stemmed from potential fuel spills during frontal impacts and improper welding on some driver's seats.
