When searching by VIN, the results page shows incomplete recalls for the last 15 years. Details about recalls conducted over the last 15 years and recalls conducted by light auto and motorcycle manufacturers are also provided on the results page.

Most safety recalls older than 15 years are not listed, with the exception of those where a manufacturer offers more coverage. Additionally, recalls that are so recent that all impacted vehicle identification numbers are not yet identified are not listed. International vehicles and non-safety recalls are not listed in the results either.
