The 2014 Cadillac CTS is Motor Trend's Car of the Year for 2014, while the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette is 2014 North American Car of the Year.
Motor Trend gives out its Car of the Year and Truck of the Year awards for each model year to the all-new or redesigned vehicles that excel the most in their segments and offer something new and significant to the automotive buyer. Motor Trend cites the CTS's growth in size and refinement for 2014 and its new turbocharged four-cylinder and six-cylinder engines. Motor Trend's 2014 Truck of the Year is the RAM 1500.
As for the North American Car of the Year, a jury of automotive press and industry employees votes each year to select 25 semi-finalists, which they then narrow down to select 10 finalists, and then a winner. Among 2014 cars, the redesigned C7 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has the highest number of points, while the new-generation Chevrolet Silverado is the award-winner among trucks.
