A ramp agent at the airport loads and unloads luggage and other cargo from the aircraft. The agents transfer luggage from conveyor belts to carts or vehicles.
After removing the cargo from the conveyor belt, the ramp agents transport it to the hub of the aircraft where they then load it. They reverse the process when unloading. In some airports, ramp agents also use devices or hand signals to guide the pilots during landing. Some ramp agents have other duties, including washing windows on the planes and general cleaning. The exact duties vary depending on the airport and the ramp agent.
