Engine control modules come in a variety of different power levels, so a customer can choose the module that is most appropriate for his driving habits. A module's programming considers every detail of a car's year, make and model, including engine size, transmission type and stock-tire size. It uses this information in conjunction with the sensors to maximize an engine's output and efficiency.
Some modules, such as those used in diesel rigs, keep drivers updated via in-cab monitors that show information about turbo boost, engine gas temperature and RPMs. Other modules show acceleration times, which is useful for racers who want to experiment with 0 to 60 MPH acceleration and 1/4-mile times using different types of high octane fuels. Control modules don't require maintenance and take 15 minutes to install.
