Carburetors play a central role in vehicles by blending air and fuel together for use in an internal combustion engine. Though most modern systems now use fuel injection technology, carburetors are still used in small engines and older car models, as well as equipment such as lawn mowers and rototillers. A person can fix common carburetor issues by troubleshooting the device and determining what solution works best for the system.
Some carburetors need fuel regulator installations because the fuel pressure in the system is too high. Other times, the carburetor needs to be physically cleaned and maintained because of the presence of dirt or grime in the seats and needles. Sometimes these small components may need replacement as well, depending on how old the system is. The manifold gaskets should be properly sealed, as sometimes air leaks may cause damage within the system. Sometimes the ignition system may malfunction, and checking the ignition system to see if parts need replacement allows one to stop further damage from marring the carburetor.Learn more about Car Parts & Maintenance
