Some benefits of the 2015 Yamaha VMAX motorcycle include its powerful 1,679cc fourstroke V4 engine that delivers high torque, a lightweight chassis designed to handle curves and straightaways, and a Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle that delivers optimum acceleration under any condition. Inspired by advanced sportbike technology, the motorcycle features a slipper clutch, anti-lock braking system and wave-style brake discs.
The Yamaha VMAX features a 65-degree, liquid-cooled 1,679cc V4 engine with four valves per cylinder. This compact engine generates high power for advanced performance. The Yamaha Chip Controlled Intake allows quick switching between intake funnels to help maintain optimum performance at any revolution speed. The VMAX’s hydraulically activated clutch features a ramp-type slipper clutch system that allows smoother braking while downshifting. The Yamaha VMAX uses an organic electroluminescence multifunction display that features a fuel meter, clock, stopwatch, transmission gear position and coolant temperature.
In addition to a simple wet sump system for lubrication, the VMAX features two radiators to efficiently cool the engine. The motorcycle’s chassis features a cast aluminum main frame and swingarm and an extruded aluminum rear frame. The VMAX also features 18-inch radial tires mounted on cast aluminum five-spoke wheels. The motorcycle’s 15-liter fuel tank is mounted under the seat to achieve greater centralization.
