How to Program Key Fobs for Ford Taurus Cars?

Users can program spare key fobs for an existing integrated keyhead transmitter using two existing programmed keys and the steps outlined in the Ford Taurus user manual. The 2015 Taurus can have a maximum of eight coded keys, only four of which can be integrated keyhead transmitters.

The 2015 Ford Taurus is equipped with integrated keyhead transmitters, but can optionally include Intelligent Access keys. The steps below describe the procedure to program the former. To program a spare key, users should have two previously programmed keys with them. If only one programmed key is available, they should contact an authorized dealer for a second one before proceeding with the steps below.

Step 1: Insert existing keys

Insert the first programmed key into the ignition and turn it on. Turn ignition off after 3 seconds but before 10 seconds. Remove the first programmed key. After 3 to 10 seconds, repeat the procedure with the second programmed key.

Step 2: Program the new key

Between 3 to 20 seconds after the previous step, insert the new key into the ignition. Turn the ignition on and keep it on for at least 6 seconds. The door locks will cycle audibly when programming is successful.
