Some problems typical with Mercedes-Benz air conditioning systems are evaporator temperature sensor failures, premature compressor breakdowns and blower regulator malfunctions. Temperature sensor failures cause compressors not to cycle. Compressor breakdown means the system won't generate cold air, and blower regulator problems mean that the blower can't circulate the cold air.
Some Mercedes-Benz owners have reported complete A/C breakdowns not attributable to any one cause, in which the entire system simply refuses to operate. In these cases, issues are often the result of all-encompassing electrical system problems affecting the vehicle's ability to regulate its own internal mechanics, which usually impacts other vehicle systems in addition to just the air conditioning.
