From its release in 1990 until February 2013, Mazda has manufactured approximately 928,000 units of the MX-5 Miata. By April 2014, total units sold went up to 940,000, reports Guinness World Records. The MG MGB, which came into production from 1962 to 1980, ranks second to the Miata in terms of popularity with around 387,000 units released in the market.
