AerCap Holdings N.V., Air Lease Corporation, and the Air Transport Services Group, Inc are three of the leading aircraft leasing companies worldwide. Together the companies operate almost 700 airplanes across the globe.
Headquartered out of the Netherlands, AerCap’s business operations primarily take place in the United States and Russia. The company handles all aspects of aircraft management, from leasing and maintenance to re-marketing and accepting deliveries on new airplanes for third parties. As part of the service, the company monitors its fleet of 378 planes and routinely makes adjustments to accommodate new requirements from the operators who lease its vehicles.
Based in the United States, Air Lease Corporation’s fleet includes 31 wide, double-aisle jets, 146 single-aisle, narrow-body planes and 16 turboprop aircraft. Air Lease buys and leases its planes and sells its retired fleet to third parties.
The Air Transport Services Group, based out of Ohio, leases its fleet to package delivery and cargo operations, including the U.S. military. It’s divided into two sections, CAM and the ACMI Services. CAM is responsible for leasing the planes and ACMI Services provides the crew and maintenance for transport operations for delivery companies, freight forwarders and airlines internationally. Air Transport’s fleet consists of 55 planes.
