One way to remove window tinting film is to go to a business that deals with tinting and have them remove it professionally. Users can also remove the film themselves using black trash bags, ammonia, super-fine steel wool, a razor blade and glass cleaner.
If removing the film themselves, users should make sure they have some time set aside and that the weather is warm. The warmth helps the film come off easier. The plastic is put up against the tinting to trap heat and then the ammonia is applied and then also trapped with a second sheet of plastic. After waiting for an hour, the user can remove the sheet and should be able to peel the tinting off the window.
