Adults ages 18 and over are not required to attend driving school in Arizona in order to obtain a driver's license. However, to become a licensed driver, a person must be able to pass the state-approved knowledge and driving tests.
The driver's license application process requires that anyone applying for a license provide proof of age and information showing legal residency in Arizona. An applicant must also present an official Social Security card, pass the vision exam, pass the written knowledge test, pass the driving test and pay all applicable fees. As of 2014, anyone who possesses a driver's license issued in another state and needs an Arizona driver's license may not be required to take the knowledge and driving tests again.
