The Vortec 350 engine provided between 145 to 370 horsepower. The variance depends on the make, model and year of the car the engine is in.
The Vortec 350 was a small-block engine produced by Chevrolet. Also known as the Chevy 5.7-liter engine, its first use occurred in 1967 inside the Camaro. The engine was so popular that eventually it was used in nearly every General Motors vehicle produced, except the Saturn.
This V8 engine stopped production in 2003, but over a dozen engine variants were developed in the 350 family. It may be possible to still pick up a new or rebuilt Vortec engine through auto parts dealers.
