The power output for JDM engines in the Honda H22 series is estimated in the range of 185 to 215 horsepower. The engines were primarily found in Japanese-made Honda Preludes and Accords during the late 1990s and early 2000s.
The H22A was introduced by Honda in 1994 one year after the original H22 debuted. The engine block was a closed deck and featured a 53.8 cubic centimeter head. During the 1990s, the H22A was a popular racing engine on several European and Japanese circuits. Later, a British engineering firm converted the H22A into a Formula 3 engine, which was used in the Japan Touring Car Championship.
