The Ron Pratte collection sold for more than $40.44 million, with combined sales of vehicles and automotive memorabilia. The collection was auctioned Jan. 10 through Jan. 18, 2015, at WestWorld in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Over 100 cars and 1,400 pieces of automobilia from Pratte's collection were sold at the auction, including the a 1966 Shelby Cobra 427 Super Snake, which sold for $5.1 million, a 1950 GM Futurliner Parade of Progress Tour Bus, which sold for $4 million, and a 1954 Pontiac Bonneville Special Motorama Concept Car, which sold for $3.3 million.
Ron Pratte is a businessman, entrepraneur and car collector with an estimated net worth of $350 million. Car auction company Barrett-Jackson conducted the auction. Proceeds from the sale of the GM Futurliner went to benefit the Armed Forces.
