The 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 features an EcoTec3 engine in both V6 and V8 options, a six-speed automatic transmission, four-wheel drive capabilities and a high-strength hydro-formed steel frame. The Silverado's EcoTec3 engine is available in a 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 or 6.2-liter V8 option.
The Silverado's 4.3-liter EcoTec3 4300 V6 engine generates 285 horsepower and 305 pounds of torque per foot, while the 5.3-liter EcoTec3 5300 V8 delivers 355 horsepower and 383 pounds of torque per foot. In the Silverado's largest engine option, the 6.2-liter EcoTec3 6200 V8 puts out 420 horsepower and 460 pounds of torque per foot. In the 6.2-liter V8 option, Chevy upgrades the transmission to an eight-speed 8L90 automatic, delivering more rapid shifts, improved acceleration and better fuel economy.
The 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 is available in four different trim packages, the WT, LS, LT and LT Z71. LT and LT Z71 models feature a high-performance suspension package. LT Z71 models also come standard with an automatic locking rear differential, hill descent control, trailering package and an off-road appearance package. Most Silverado 1500 trucks include Bose audio systems and Chevy's MyLink touch-screen multimedia system, which includes Bluetooth capabilities and A2DP streaming technology. A 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 WT starts at roughly $30,000, as of April 2015. The top-level LT Z71 starts at approximately $36,700.
