Good car wax usually contains a blend of carnauba wax together with a mix of beeswax and natural oils. Some formulas also include petroleum distillates, resins and other special polymers. Different formulas are used for various types of paint and are available in liquid, paste or spray applications.
Most car waxes come in paste form. As a hard wax, carnauba wax provides shine to paint surfaces. The beeswax in the formula produces a protective layer. The natural oils include linseed oil which adds luster and shine to paint. The petroleum distillates help clean the paint and make the wax easier to spread. Car wax should be applied every few months to maintain shine and protection.
