Enzo Ferrari chose the black prancing horse as the company symbol after it was suggested to him by the mother of World War I ace, Francesco Baracca. The yellow background represents Baracca’s birthplace of Modena. Baracca used to paint the prancing stallion on his planes as a symbol of good fortune. The top of the shield within which the symbol is set features the Italian national colors.
Ferruccio Lamborghini’s zodiac sign is Taurus, which may have influenced him to choose the raging bull as the symbol for his brand of luxury vehicles. He was also a great admirer of the Spanish bull breeder Don Eduardo Miura. The gold charging bull represents grace, force and power. The Lamborghini Islero is named after the bull that killed Manolete, a renowned matador.
The letter B on Bentley represents the Bentley brothers who are the creators of the brand. The wings represent nimbleness and speed. The emblem features three colors. Traces of white give appeal and serenity while black defines subtlety and elegance. The hints of silver on the emblem exude luxury and style.
Lastly, the Rolls Royce logo depicts the last names of founders Charles Rolls and Henry Royce. The intertwining of the letters may depict the close relationship between the two founders.Learn more about Car Makes & Models
