As of 2014, the hoverboard exists only in the movie "Back to the Future." The video of the HUVr airborne skateboard that went viral on the Internet was a fake, admits its creator, Funny or Die.
A cast that included skateboard legend Tony Hawk, former football player Terrell Owens and actor Christopher Lloyd helped sell the faked video to viewers. An equally fake website greeted those who searched the Internet for more information on the company. Funny or Die, a video comedy site, posted an apology, itself a humorous video, with Lloyd claiming he had been hoodwinked into believing in the product. Funny or Die said the board, signed by the participants in the hoax, would be given away in a Facebook drawing.
