Honda recalled cars for air bag problems every year from 2008 to 2013. These recalls involved issues such as incorrect status indicators and random deployments of the air bags.
In 2009, Honda announced a recall of up to 440,000 vehicles due to what it termed an unusual deployment of air bags. In 2010, Honda recalled more than 820,000 vehicles. In December 2011, Honda recalled more than 1 million vehicles because of airbag issues. In September 2012, Honda recalled 2012 Ridgeline trucks because of an issue with incorrect airbag status. In 2013, Honda recalled some models due to problems with the front passenger side air bag.
