Choose a microfiber towel that has a tight weave, which provides better scrubbing capability. Apply the glass cleaner or water to one side of the microfiber towel, and use this side to scrub the glass gently. Avoid using glass cleaner on tinted windows, and instead opt for water and a dry microfiber cloth to prevent scratching the tint. Refrain from using abrasive sponges or pads when scrubbing off difficult-to-remove dirt, grime or bugs from a windshield to avoid scratching the glass. Only use the dry side of the microfiber cloth for drying off cleaner or water from the windshield to minimize streaking.
Clean the interior side of the windshield before the exterior to avoid rubbing excess dirt onto the interior. If you are also cleaning other interior areas of the car, such as the dashboard, save windshield cleaning for last to ensure stray sprays from other solutions are removed from the interior side of the windshield.Learn more about Car Parts & Maintenance
