Some good diesel fuels include petroleum diesel, synthetic diesel, fatty-aid methyl ester and Dimethyl ether. Diesel fuels are liquids that are used in diesel engines.
Also called fossil fuel, petroleum fuel is the most common type of diesel fuel. It is produced through crude oil distillation at atmosphere pressure. Synthetic diesel is produced from carbonaceous materials such as coal, biomass, natural gas and biogas. These raw materials are converted into synthesis gas before they are improved into synthetic diesel. Also called biodiesel, the fatty-acid methyl ester is produced from animal fats or vegetable oil. Dimethyl ether diesel is a gaseous diesel fuel that results into little soot during combustion.
