The 2000 Honda Accord comes with one of four 4-cylinder, 16-valve engine variants, a tilt steering wheel, AM/FM radio and dual front impact airbags. It features four wheel independent suspension, offers a city fuel economy of between 23 and 25 miles per gallon and carries up to five passengers.
Four engine variants of the 2000 Honda Accord exist: the 2.3 DX, 2.3 LX, 2.3 SE and 2.3 EX, presented in order of retail price. The 2.3 DX comes with an engine that provides 135 horsepower at 5,400 RPM and 145 pounds per foot of torque at 4,700 RPM. The other three variants come with an engine that provides 150 horsepower at 5,700 RPM and 152 pounds per foot of torque at 4,900 RPM.
Only the 2.3 SE comes standard with a 4-speed automatic transmission; the other three models are equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission by default. Only the 2.3 SE and 2.3 EX come with ABS brakes as a standard option. The powertrain for all four variants is the same, except for the lack of a variable valve control on the 2.3 DX model.
The 2000 Honda Accord 2.3 DX features two loudspeakers connected to a cassette player and AM/FM radio, while the 2.3 EX features six speakers connected to a CD player and radio.
