The G2 road test is a practical driving examination that is part of the driver licensing system in Canada. Drivers are tested by an examiner on advanced driving knowledge, motor vehicle skills and components of expressway driving. Drivers must pass this test to gain full Class G driving privileges
Components and skills that must be tested in each G2 road test include parallel parking, three-point turns, lane changes, roadside stops and left and right turns. The G2 test is the second and final test in the Canadian licensing system, and can only be attempted after a driver has held a lower-level G1 license for a minimum of one year. Drivers must also complete and file a “Declaration of Highway Driving Experience” in order to qualify for the G2 road test.
