The Ford Explorer's Eddie Bauer trim line features a two-tone paint job, aluminum-alloy wheels, leather seats and luxury interior accents. The Eddie Bauer trim line is available on Explorers built between 1992 and 2010.
Ford Explorers built between 1997 and 2010 feature a 4.0-liter Cologne SOHC V6 engine. This 210-horsepower engine uses a variable length intake manifold and creates 254 pounds of torque per foot. The Explorer's previous OHV push-rod engine provided 160 horsepower and 220 pounds of torque per foot. The 4.0-liter Cologne SOHC engine is coupled with a five-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel drive electronic transfer case.
Eddie Bauer edition Ford Explorers also have a 5.0-liter Windsor OHV V8 engine option for models built between 1996 to 2001. For model years starting in 2002, the Windsor engine option is replaced with a 4.6-liter 16-valve Modular V8. The Modular V8 engine is enhanced with a 24-valve design for 2006 to 2010 model years.
Starting in 1998, Eddie Bauer edition Ford Explorers received a leather steering wheel with integrated audio controls. A power driver seat and leather upholstery add to the vehicle's luxury cabin. In 2003, the Eddie Bauer trim line also received a quad bucket seat option. The Eddie Bauer's 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels were also enhanced to a 17-inch variant for 2003.
