Some features of the 2016 Toyota RAV4 hybrid are a 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine, one electric motor at each axle and a continuously variable transmission. Also, Toyota plans to offer the RAV4 hybrid in midgrade XLE trim and top-shelf Limited trim.
The 2016 Toyota RAV4 hybrid made its debut at the 2015 New York auto show. It joins seven other hybrids in Toyota's vast line-up of green-themed vehicles. The RAV4 has a dual-powertrain with four driven wheels.
The RAV4 hybrid looks exactly like the gasoline-powered RAV4 and features the same updates for the model year. This means fresh features such as new front and rear fascias, restyled rocker panels and a new tailgate design. However, unlike the interior of the gasoline-powered RAV4, the hybrid's interior features blue-tinted lighting accessories. The hybrid also boasts 17-inch wheels.
Benefiting from many standard and available upgrades included in the 2016 design update, the RAV4 hybrid has improved interior materials, a 4.2-inch TFT information screen in the gauge cluster and an additional USB port. The center stack features a 7-inch touch screen and an around-view monitor. Going on sale in the fall of 2015, the Toyota RAV4 hybrid is just part of an expanded and refreshed 2016 RAV4 model range.
