The Ford Focus RS500 features a 2.3-liter turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder engine and a performance-styled interior, giving the driver a more intuitive driving experience. The Focus also includes a sportier exterior, complete with extra vents and a spoiler.
Scheduled for release in 2016, the Ford Focus RS500 may come with a larger engine that puts out an impressive 315 horsepower. This car, made in a plant in Germany, will be an import to United States drivers and with the exception of its safety equipment, will be the same Focus sold in other countries, which is a first for the Ford Motor Company.
The new Focus comes with all-wheel drive and specific suspension tuning making it easier to handle than previous models. The engine comes complete with a new cooling system and cylinder head, both of which are unique to the Focus. For this model, the company has completely done away with carbon-fiber body panels.
The all-wheel drive on the Focus RS500 is more intuitive than in previous models. Ford completely redesigned its all-wheel drive to make sure that when a skid or slip is detected, almost 70 percent of the power will be redirected toward the rear wheels.
Other features of the Focus include brakes made by Brembo, a 6-speed manual transmission and Goodyear F1 Asymmetric tires.
