The 2015 Ford F650 Super Truck XUV comes in four gasoline models, six diesel models and three cab configurations: Regular, Super and Crew. The gasoline engine is a 6.8-liter V-10, whereas the diesel engine is a 6.7-liter Cummins.
The V-10 gasoline engine is rated at 362 horsepower and 457 foot-pounds of torque. According to Ford, the gas engine is more cost-effective because it is cheaper to purchase and because fuel and service costs are lower. The gas engines on the F650 have a power takeoff feature, which provides an alternative to the high torque of diesel engines. The standard diesel engine comes with 11 horsepower and torque ratings. The turbocharged engine's technology includes 24 valves, a particulate filter and high-pressure, common-rail fuel injection.
All models come with a six-speed, shiftable automatic transmission. Air-conditioning, a tachometer, cruise control, a tilt steering column and an AM-FM stereo with MP3 capability are standard on all models. The trucks have full-power brakes with a four-piston system. The Regular Cab has two doors, while the SuperCab and Crew Cab have four doors. From the front bumper to the back of the cab, the Regular Cab measures 113 inches. The SuperCab measures 134 inches, and the Crew measures 148 inches.
