The 2015 Can-Am Outlander 650 XT features a 62-horsepower V-Twin Rotax engine with a continuously variable transmission, dual hydraulic disc brakes, double a-arm front suspension and a DESS, digitally encoded security system. The 650 XT also has a 3000-pound winch and 26-inch Carlisle ACT radial tires.
Other features include 12-inch machined cast aluminum wheels with an open center design and heavy-duty front and rear bumpers. Enhanced features in the 2016 Can-Am Outlander 650 XT include four different Rotax engine options and a larger radiator providing twice as much cooling capacity. Both the 2015 and 2016 models have a dual room air-box to separate dirty air from clean air before it is sent to the engine. Cargo racks have an anti-skid surface and a combined capacity of 300 pounds. The 650 XT boasts the most lighting output of any all terrain vehicle on the market, as of 2015.
Both the 2015 and 2016 models have digital instrumentation, the 2016 including digital speedometer, tachometer, odometer, trip and hour meters and temperature and engine lights.
