The 2016 Ford F-450 is a heavy duty truck with high-performance engine options, high fuel capacity and 4x2 and 4x4 models. Ford offers multiple choices for most of the features. As such, the exact specifications of the vehicle depend on the customer's preferences.
There are two engine options for the 2016 Ford F-450: a 6.2-liter V8 gas engine and a 6.7-liter V8 turbo diesel engine. Whereas the former can produce 385 horsepower at 5,500 revolutions per minute, the latter is able to produce 440 horsepower at 2,800 revolutions per minute. The diesel engine produces almost twice as much torque: 860 pound-feet compared to the gas engine's 405 pound-feet.
All F-450 models have a TorqShift 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission, an electronic engine cooling system and an eight-cylinder engine. All F-450 models can seat up to six people, including the driver. Whereas an F-450 with the gas engine can hold up to 35 gallons of fuel, an F-450 with the super diesel can have up to 37.5 gallons in its fuel tank.
All models have four wheel vented-disc ABS as standard, as well as power steering and independent twin I-beam suspensions with coil springs. Ford sells all models with five-year warranty plans.
