Some standard features of the 2016 Ford C-Max are voice-activated SYNC technology, intelligent access with push-button start, and dual-zone climate control. The Ford C-Max Energi is a fully electric car with a recharging port.
SYNC technology connects smartphones to the C-MAX via Bluetooth and offers the ability to make hands-free phone calls, listen to music stored on a phone and control compatible mobile applications, all via voice control. Upgraded SYNC 3 technology includes a capacitive touch screen, enhanced voice recognition, easy navigation destination input, integration with iPhone's Siri application and Wi-Fi connectivity for SYNC 3 software updates.
The intelligent access key system can sense when a car key is nearby and allows the car to be unlocked by simply touching the door handle. The ignition has a push-button start, and the owner does not need to insert the key to start the car. Dual-zone automatic temperature controls located in the front row allow the driver and passenger to set the air temperatures separately.
The C-MAX Energi has an external charge port and fully charges in as little as 2.5 hours with the 240-volt home charging equipment. The battery fully charges overnight with a standard 120-volt cord. The charge port has a ring around the door that glows blue when the battery is fully charged. The Energi is rated at 141 horsepower and averages 88 MPG.
The C-MAX Hybrid features power-split hybrid architecture and EcoGuide and Brake Coach software that provide real-time performance information. The C-MAX Hybrid has regenerative braking, which recovers about 90 percent of the energy created while braking and returns it to the battery.
