Earl Scheib Auto Painting made the claim, beginning in the 1950s, that it would paint any car any color, and the company continues that policy today. The company closed its doors national in 2010 but allowed franchisees to continue using the Earl Scheib name.
As of 2012, some Earl Scheib franchisees would paint any car for $399 with coupons available to reduce the cost to the customer. Former Earl Scheib franchisees continue to paint over 150,000 cars a year, charging far less than traditional car paint shops where the cost is typically over $1,000 for the service. Some Earl Scheib locations also offer body shop services, towing, windshield replacement and car rental services.
