Two websites that allow owners to determine what the value of a truck are Kelly Blue Book's website at KBB.com and the National Automobile Dealer's Association website at NADA.com. Both websites are free to use.
On KBB.com, begin determining the value of a truck by entering the year, make, model and mileage of the vehicle using the drop-down menu in each box. Next, select the truck's style from the options listed and specify options, including engine, drive train and transmission types, entertainment features, exterior additions and the type of wheels and tires on the truck. In the final step, select the condition of the vehicle, ranging from excellent to poor. Kelly Blue Book then shows the value of the vehicle.
To find the value of a truck on NADA.com, first select the vehicle make from the drop-down menu, then specify the year and model of the vehicle and the trim level. In the final step, enter the mileage and additional features on the vehicle, and the value of the vehicle appears.
Both websites show the trade-in and retail values of the truck with the selected options and mileage. Kelly Blue Book also shows the fair price when purchasing the vehicle from a private party.
