A dashboard diagram shows the owner of a car the purpose of each of the gauges on a dashboard. It also shows the placement of each of the warning indicators that light up.
Gauges that appear on dashboards include the odometer, fuel gauge and speedometer. In some cars, other gauges show the RPM of the engine, the oil pressure, the coolant temperature and the battery level. The owner's manual indicates safe tolerances for each of those measurements, as well as the meaning for each of the warning symbols that light up on the dashboard. Such problems as the need to have the engine checked instantly, air bag failure, activation of the high beams on the headlights and other issues also appear among the dashboard lights.
