Commercial vehicle drivers engaged in interstate or intrastate commerce and driving vehicles with a gross weight rating of above 10000 pounds must submit a medical examiner's certificate to their state driver licensing agency when renewing a CDL.
The drivers must also declare which operation categories they belong to: Interstate non-excepted, intrastate non-excepted, interstate excepted andiIntrastate excepted.
