American manufacturer Harley-Davidson produces the Heritage Softail motorcycle, as of September 2015. The Heritage Softail is a high-output Twin Cam, or big-twin, engine motorcycle. It is designed to capture a sense of nostalgia and appeal to Harley customers' strong sense of tradition.
The Heritage Softail has its rear-wheel suspension hidden under the transmission. In this respect it is reminiscent of the popular hardtail choppers of the 1960s and 1970s. Harley-Davidson manufactures the Softail model with springer forks in the front-end suspension. The overall styling of the motorcycle pays tribute to the long heritage of Harley-Davidson.
More modern features include cruise control, a redesigned seat and redesigned leather saddlebags.
