1984 was Corvette's second highest production year, with a total of 51,547 units produced. The 1984 C4 was, however, in production for longer than a year. Models labeled as 1984's were produced for a total of 17 months at GM's Bowling Green, Kentucky facility.
The 1984 C4 Corvette had numerous problems, including engine problems, transmission problems, electrical problems, exhaust problems, suspension problems- and problems with safety features. In spite of the problems with the 1984 models, Edmunds lists the 1984 C4 as one of the top 10 Corvettes of all time.
