Some common instrument cluster repairs include replacing fuses and detecting and fixing electrical shorts. Other issues that may require repair include faulty sensors, sending units, or wires that cause instruments to display inaccurate readings.
If the entire instrument panel doesn't light up or there is another issue that seems to affect all instruments on the panel, the problem is likely with the instrument panel wiring. Replacing the appropriate fuse may solve the problem. If it persists, an ohmmeter can be used to locate any electrical shorts. If only one instrument on the panel is experiencing issues, the mechanical sensor associated with that instrument and the wiring connecting the sensor to the panel may provide answers.
