A common car blinker wiring diagram shows a three- or four-terminal turn signal flasher circuit and the wire connections coming from the lights and dash indicators. A common diagram also shows the wiring from the circuit to the fuses.Continue Reading
A turn signal wiring diagram shows where each wire connects to the circuit relay terminals. Wiring from the turn signal lights connects to a switch that connects directly to the circuit on one specific terminal, and wiring from the battery via the fuse box connects to a separate terminal.
The circuit relay may have a separate terminal for the dash indicator light, or that wiring may splice directly into the circuit's power wire. The hazard light switch connects directly to a turn signal circuit terminal, and the circuit may have an optional wire coming from a second fuse to assist with power for the hazard lights.
Some common diagrams also show the names of each terminal and the relative locations of each terminal on the circuit. Some diagrams include the voltage ratings for fuses and wires, and some give written directions for connecting wires to the terminal and replacing fuses.
Turn signal wiring diagrams vary with different makes and models. However, most automobile manufacturers follow a similar process that utilizes a circuit relay, fuses and switches.Learn more about Car Parts & Maintenance
