To drain the old oil, first loosen and remove the oil filter cap to speed up the oil drainage. Put a collecting container below the engine, locate the drain plug and remove it with a socket wrench. Drain all the oil into the collecting container, dispose of the oil appropriately, and replace the crush washer with a new one.

To clean the oil drain pipe, use a clean rag to wipe off all dirt and debris from its edge. Then loosen off the oil filter plus its O-ring with an oil filter wrench. To clean the plastic mesh filter, first remove the filter from the engine, and then use a clean rag to wipe away any dirt and debris. Wipe the oil filter holes and the drain plug as well. Apply lubricant to the new filter's O-ring, screw the filter into the slot previously occupied by the old filter with your hand, clean the drain hole and mesh filter hole, reassemble the parts, and fill the engine with the new oil according to user's manual.
