The cars with the shortest stopping distance are the Porsche Boxster, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Carbon Edition, Ferrari 430 Scuderia, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Centennial Edition, Lexus LFA Prototype and Porsche 911 GT3. This is according to the Consumer Reports website and the Motor Trend website, both of which conducted their own tests. The braking distances were measured when there were dry conditions to optimize the performance of each car.
The Porsche Boxster can go from 60 miles per hour to zero in 112 feet. A number of others cars can also stop in less than 130 feet, as tested by Consumer Reports. This includes the Subaru Impreza WRX, Nissan Altima 3.5 SR (best stopping distance in a family car), Hyundai Genesis 3.8 (best stopping distance in a small SUV), Hyundai Tucson GLS, Cadillac SR Luxury and Acura MDX.
Different tests show alternative results with the following cars coming in with a stopping distance of less than 100 feet, as reported by Motor Trend. They include the cars listed above plus the Ferrari 16m Scuderia Spyder, Audi R8, Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Dodge Viper ACR, Dodge Viper SRT10, Porsche 911 GT3 RS, Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce, Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Porsche 911 GT2, Nissan GT-R, Ferrari 458 Italia, Porsche 911 Turbo and Porsche Boxster S.
