Find the value of a car by using Kelley Blue Book (KBB), which is an official guide to car prices that is used by dealerships around the country, according to its website. KBB allows visitors to check car values or prices for new and used cars for free.

- Select car properties
- Choose options
- Specify of trading or selling to a private party
- Enter condition
Navigate to KBB, and click on Car Values from the tabs across the top of the home page. Choose New & Used Car Prices or Trade-in & Private Party Values from the drop-down menu.
Enter the information for a vehicle using the drop-down menus under the Tell Us Which Car You Own box. Select the year, model, make and enter the mileage, and then click Next. Enter the ZIP code when prompted to get the most accurate car values.
Choose the options for the vehicle in question, including engine, drivetrain, transmission and accessory packages. Select the seats, exterior, entertainment and instrumentation, wheels, tires and cargo and towing options.
After adding all options, click See Blue Book Value, and then click whether the vehicle is being traded to a dealer or sold to a private party.
Next, select the condition of the vehicle, from excellent to fair. Click on Get Blue Book Value. View blue book values, toggling between conditions if desired by clicking the condition type from the graph provided.
