As of 2015, used 1965 Chevrolet Malibu SS automobiles are available at ClassicCars.com and Hemmings.com. Dealers, private sellers and auction companies throughout the country offer the vehicles in a variety of colors, conditions and prices. Buyers can choose hardtop and convertible models.
In August 1963, Chevrolet introduced the Malibu as part of the manufacturer's Chevelle series. The cars gained popularity quickly, as two-door sport coupes, convertibles, four-door sedans and two- or four-door station wagons. The 1964 and 1965 Malibu Super Sport models featured six-cylinder and V-8 engines. Chevrolet only built 201 Chevrolet SS 396 Malibu automobiles in February 1965, and just one of them was a convertible. Chevrolet equipped the cars with 396-cubic-inch big-block V-8 engines that delivered 375 horsepower.
