As of 2015, a used Yamaha bike can be purchased on Cycle Trader, Oodle Marketplace and eBay. Oodle offers the most search options with refinements such as location, mileage, year built, color, model, off road, custom, classic design and price.
EBay is the safest place to purchase a bike as it has a money-back guarantee if a dispute arises, and the seller is found to be at fault. A purchase must be made through eBay and the payment partner PayPal, or there is no coverage and the purchase is in violation of eBay policy. A search can be refined by engine size, color and year built, but eBay has the least refinements specific to bikes.
Cycle Trader has a filter that shows bikes being sold by either a dealership or an individual seller. An option to request an insurance quote from Geico is integrated into the website. Some bikes do not have a listed price, which must be requested. A chat window is offered, at the seller's preference, for price quotes or more information. Cycle Trader can calculate the monthly payment on each bike.
Both Cycle Trader and Oodle only host classifieds and, therefore, do not take any financial responsibility in transactions.
