Where Can Consumers Find Black Book Values on Vehicles?

Consumers can get the Black Book value on their vehicles either by visiting a dealership or sales lot and requesting it or by going online to the Black Book website and entering in the vehicle's information. However, both scenarios have their disadvantages.

The primary value looked up by consumers is the Blue Book value, which can be found for free on Kelley Blue Book's website. However, dealerships want to use the Black Book value, which is the wholesale value, and it is harder for consumers to easily view. For a consumer to get that information on their own, it would require a subscription service. There are different services for new and used cars available. The other option is to request the value from the dealership, but without the membership, consumers have no way of knowing if that is a true black book value.
