While bass boats are most often used for bass fishing, they're also viable options for fishing other types of panfish. Bass boats are designed for the types of environments bass are frequently found in and to provide a comfortable place for fishermen, so they work well for general freshwater fishing.
Unlike many other powerboats, bass boats aren't designed to travel quickly. Most have two motors; the first outboard motor is designed for moving to the main fishing area, while the second engine is smaller and much quieter, making it a great option for moving small distances without disturbing fish. Because bass boats are designed to disturb fish as minimally as possible, they're generally made from lightweight aluminum or fiberglass.
