CarMax, Autotrader and Cars.com let users search for automatic trucks that are for sale. All three sites allow users to search by location, transmission type and body style.
CarMax has physical locations and only displays vehicles within its own system. Because it is a single company, it will sometimes arrange shipping to locations outside of a preferred location or in an inconvenient area for customer convenience. Many refinement options, such as make, model and luxury features, are available to refine searches. Most truck listings feature multiple pictures.
Autotrader searches through local dealers and for-sale-by-owner vehicles to find relevant results. New vehicles are available on this site, and refinement and sorting options make search results easier to navigate. The listings include how far away the vehicle is and the name of the dealer who has it. Contact information is also available.
Cars.com is similar to Autotrader. Listings have a note when CarFax reports are available for the truck, and users can contact sellers directly through the listed phone number or email address of the seller. A comparison feature lets shoppers view the features of multiple listings side-by-side. Basic information is listed in the search results, but the individual truck pages offer more details.
