Apply to renew your vehicle registration online at the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Driver and Vehicle Services website, by mail or in person at Department of Motor Vehicles. Online renewal of a vehicle’s registration is only possible if the registration expires within six months and if the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has the owner’s name and address.
Use your vehicle title number, Pennsylvania license plate number, insurance information and odometer reading to renew your registration at the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation website. You can pay the renewal fee online using your debit or credit card.
To renew your registration by mail, use the renewal notice from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. If you do not have a renewal notice, you can still renew your registration through the mail by sending a Request for Registration form and a check or money order for the renewal fees.
You can also renew your registration in person at your local DMV office. Use either your renewal notice or a Request for Registration form to register your vehicle. You can pay the renewal fees using a credit card, debit card, check or money order.
As of 2015, the registration renewal fee is $36 for passenger vehicles and $18 for motorcycles.
